Il testo presento un’analisi multimodale di alcune sequenze video registrate in due classe nella scuola superiore, una in Germania, l’altra in Italia. L’obbiettivo è di rendere evidente le strutture intrinseche del turn taking e turn construction e di indurre a una riflessione in ambito della formazione degli insegnanti di lingua straniera.

Das Buch befasst sich mit dem Zusammenspiel von kognitiven, emotionalen und motivationalen Faktoren beim Aufbau von mündlicher Kompetenz in Deutsch als Tertiärsprache bei erwachsenen Italienern. Es stützt sich dabei auf ein interdisziplinäres Vorgehen, das theoretisch erörtert und in seiner Methodenwahl ausführlich dargelegt wird, insbesondere die Videografie sowie intro-/retrospektive Verfahren. Die Ergebnisse der Studie veranschaulichen die Lernprozesse einmal klassenübergreifend, zum anderen erfolgt eine detaillierte Analyse der einzelnen Lernenden. Das Literaturverzeichnis liefert Lehrenden, Studierenden und Forschern eine erschöpfende bibliographische Quelle zu den behandelten Themen.

Il testo presenta un analisi multimodale di alcune sequenze durante una lezione di tedesco svoltasi in un liceo linguistico nel Trentino-Alto Adige. Vengono focalizzati i diversi livelli di attenzioni degli apprendenti sia nell'interazione con l'insegnante sia nella comunicazioni tra discenti. L'analisi rivela determinate forme di schematizzazione e di routine dell'interazione in classe, nella comunicazione verbale e non verbale, che induce a una maggiore riflessione e un approccio più consapevole nell'ambito dell'insegnamento. This paper investigates how the emotion "joy" and its correlation with cognitive and motivational factors may influence learning a foreign language. After an overview of current research on emotions, with special reference to the neurobiological basis of brain activity, the paper presents an empirical study of the oral competence of adult Italian learners of German as a third language in a classroom setting at the Goethe-Institut Palermo. L’articolo presenta i primi risultati di una ricerca qualitativa sulla scrittura in lingua straniera con l’aiuto di Google Traduttore. In questo lavoro prendiamo in esame i processi, cioè le forme di costruzione delle strutture verbali e discorsive nel mentre si articolano dal vivo durante la costruzione di una traduzione di sito web di carattere turistico. Multimodale Analyse von Interaktion im fremdsprachlichen Klassenzimmer

The article offers a contribution to the interaction research in the foreign language teaching and learning. It starts with an overview of various research approaches to the foreign language teaching and learning, from the 60s to the present days. A multimodal analysis of an excerpt of videorecorded classroom interaction is then provided. The analysis is focused on several aspects of classroom participation and teaching sequences. Some implications of the present research for teachers' training are finally provided.

The paper examines the functions of awareness in classroom communication. The focus is on interactionist approaches, conversational analysis and multimodal analysis methods. The concept of awareness can be analyzed from an inner or an external perspective. According to the perspective adopted, different approaches to the study of classroom discourse can be designed. The three approaches considered in the paper trace the development of awareness from language (learning) awareness to interactional awareness and thus offer a prospect of a deeper understanding of classroom discourse.
